History
The ANNUAL DIASPORA AFRICAN ELDERS AWARD (ADAEA) is an event that celebrates and honors the achievements and contributions of African elders living in the diaspora. The award was established in 2024 with the goal of recognizing the wisdom, leadership, and resilience of African elders who have made significant impacts in their communities.
The ADAEA was founded by a group of individuals who recognized the need to acknowledge and appreciate the valuable knowledge and experiences that African elders bring to their respective communities. These elders have often faced numerous challenges and have overcome adversity, and their stories serve as a source of inspiration for younger generations.
Each year, the ADAEA committee selects a group of African elders who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, community service, and cultural preservation. The awardees come from various fields, including education, arts and culture, entrepreneurship, and social activism. They are recognized for their outstanding achievements and their efforts to uplift and empower their communities.
